From the photos, the reviews, the name (Design Hotel) and the 4 stars, you might be expecting a luxurious hotel. Don't. This is a simple hotel not far from the old town. There is no "design", no luxury features. Breakfast is simple (bread, eggs, bacon, etc), they don't even offer real juice. Just flavored sugar water. And the elevator is painfully slow as a snail. The location is convenient to everything. The historic center is a pleasant 10 minute walk away. But the location that the hotel is in, is not attractive, just a busy modern city center. I did not hate this hotel. There were no bad experiences here. I just was expecting something better.

We loved our stay in this hotel. The location was very central. The breakfast was great. We stayed on the 7th floor overlooking the old town and the view was fantastic. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

Stayed here as a solo female traveller. Easy check in. Room is small and extremely basic but the bed was comfy and the shower was excellent, so powerful, however the bathroom floods so I would advise to put a towel on the floor to soak it up. TV has 2 English channels. Tea and coffee making facilities. Fridge and a safe. The only thing I could criticise is there is no mirror next to a plug so if you use any hair tools you are out of luck. Hairdryer in the bathroom but it’s a hold the button type and not powerful at all. I took my Dyson hairdryer and the electric kept tripping when I tried to use it. My room had a view of a wall but I wasn’t bothered. Now location, this could not have been any better! Right in the centre for the main square, 10-15 min walk to the old town. I had breakfast included but when I came down on the first day they were extremely unhelpful and just left me sat despite me asking a couple of times for the hot meal option so I just took a cuppa back to my room and went out for breakfast. Staff don’t really speak or greet you anytime leaving or entering. If you aren’t fussed about having a flash room and just want to be central then this is the place to stay.

Me and my daughter stayed here from Monday to Friday and our room was on fourth floor. It faced onto a brick wall but this was fine as we only slept there and explored Prague by day and night. Breakfast was good and wide range of food for all tastes. Reception staff friendly. We did have drinks in the cafe and also went up to the rooftop accessed via lift to floor 8 and then one flight of stairs. The hotel room was very hot and we did have to open the electric switch operated windows. It was minus 2 outside but after suffering with the heat the first night had no choice. We switched off the air con but the room attendant would switch back on each day. Only advice is don’t take thick pjs as you won’t need them. All in all a nice stay and great location for getting out and about. We took bus and metro from airport and there are 2 metro stops close by giving access to line A and B.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Last minute booking so room without a view on the first floor but otherwise all ok. The advantage of a first floor room here is the quick access down the stairs to the lobby and breakfast room. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choices. Hot food was not particularly hot. It can get busy but no issues during our stay. Never used the cafe which is open to non residents. Well located and easy walk to most attractions and only a short walk from the metro if you made your own way from the airport as we did. Unfortunately we didn't know about the viewing terrace on the roof.....until we read some other reviews when we got home. Easy mistake !
